Well, it took two days to finish, but my husband, his dad, and I finished the drywall on the ceiling of my father-in-laws room! Kind of sucked that FIL had to work from his chair to hold up the t bar for us when he’s not supposed to do that stuff, but when you only have three people to work that’s what you have to do.
Yesterday was rough, we did the first two full sheets — holding that up over your head and screwing it in was not fun at all! Yesterday we put the rest of the parts in. It’s definitely not the best job, but we worked with what we had.
After we put it all up we were able to get it all taped and most of it mudded (I think I missed four screws at the end of the day. My husband helped me with the mudding and taping while I stopped to make dinner.
It would really help if we had a babysitter, but sometimes you just have to work with what you have.
Well, have a good night. Tomorrow should be better. A friend is coming down from Illinois to help us with the final mudding, sanding, and then helping to put in the laminate floor. We’re hoping we can be moving in over the weekend, but then again our plans have been going awry lately, so it will probably be next week.
Will try and post pictures of the room tomorrow — hopefully it will be a little more complete!
