Totally Random Soup

So todays dinner was a hodge-podge of things that were in my refrigerator and cabinet.

Chuck Roast

Pork Loin

Large Turnip

Large Parsnip

Large Kahlorbi

4-5 Golden Potatoes

1 bag frozen mixed veggies

2 cans beef broth

1 can chicken broth

3 cups of water

Boil your beef and pork with some salt and pepper (I added steak seasonings as well), in the water and broth.  (I used chicken and beef, because that’s what I had). Once your beef and pork is most of the way tender add your root veggies (ie potatoes, turnips, parsnips, and kahlorbi.  Once the root veggies are tender add your bag of mixed veggies, boil again until they are tender or at least just hot.  Enjoy.  It was surprisingly good.  The men folk in my family enjoyed it immensely, which is odd, because my husband doesn’t usually eat those kinds of veggies.

So make it for your husband’s and pretend all the veggies are potatoes and maybe they’ll eat it!
