Mosquito Season (Recipe Anti Itch Cream)

Well it’s that terrible time of year when mosquitoes are at their worse.  One helpful hint to try and avoid getting a yard full of mosquitoes is to make sure you don’t have any standing water on your property.  Dump buckets, put fish in water gardens, etc.  Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water, so if you don’t have any standing water you can avoid a lot of these pesky bugs!

Unfortunately, you are not going to get rid of them all.  If you are lucky enough to live in the country and don’t mind noisy birds Guinea Fowl are the perfect birds to take care of bug problems.  These birds love to eat any bugs they can get their becks on and also they will eat snakes.

Okay, so you’ve done all that and you’re still getting bit by mosquitoes.  Well, if you’re itching like crazy here’s a natural recipe for an anti-itch paste that will help with the itching.  You probably have everything in your pantry for it right now!

Anti-Itch Paste

1/2 cup Baking Soda

1/8 cup Water

1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients together (I put mine in a small mason jar).  Spread on your mosquito bites.  It takes the itch away almost immediately.

WARNING: This contains salt, which means if you put this on an open wound it is going to sting.
